Youth In Sunlight

'Youth in the Sunlight' Kicks Off!

The ‘Youth in the Sunlight’ project kicks off in earnest as 14 young people produce the first tiles in the Lord Leverhulme quote to be displayed in Port Sunlight. The Youth Federation is working in partnership with the Port Sunlight Museum to develop a number of artifacts to be permanently displayed in honour of Lord Leverhulme’s efforts to support young people across the area.

We are currently seeking experienced Youth Leaders and Workers to act as ‘NCS Summer of a Lifetime’ Team Leaders and Support Workers leading teams of young people aged 16 - 17 years through 4 - 6 week programmes during July and August 2012 in Cheshire and Wirral. These challenging yet rewarding posts will be delivered in a range of exciting and innovative ways including youth centres, outdoor residential centres and through community based social action projects across Cheshire and the Wirral.

Walk the Great Wall of China in support of Youth Federation

Jonny and Liz walk the Great Wall of China in support of Youth Federation!

Two volunteers from West Cheshire College, Jonny and Liz fundraised their way to China in support of Youth Federation. Through a range of creative events which included car washes, bag packing in local supermarkets, themed dinners and a night out in Chester to name just a few, together they fundraised over £5000. This amount will help delivering continuous support to disadvantaged children and young people across Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral.

Wow! What an achievement!!

Young Enterprise of the Year Award

Congratulations goes to Toni Davies (MYAF graduate) who was runner up in the young enterprise of the year award in Manchester. Toni has supported over 100 children through various projects including workshops in local primary schools to break down barriers between the younger and older generation and carnival costume making workshops, which supported children to learn many crucial life skills.

 

Unemployed Teen

One in Five Young People NEET

One in five young people are not in employment, education or training and a quarter of a million have been unemployed for over a year, according to official figures.

 

Labour MP David Miliband has warned Youth unemployment in the UK has reached "emergency point" and could cost as much as £28bn by 2022.

 

H Club

One of our members the 'H Club' run a number of interactive training courses that are designed to enhance and support the effectiveness of your organisation.

AMICUS Launch

Celebrations as the new AMICUS area of the website is launched. Thanks to Transition Funding, over the past six months, the dedicated AMICUS web area has been developed by Geoff Birch of Viveza. The area provides a dedicated area where registered members of the AMICUS project can share information and ideas about delivery sessions for young people. The website area provides a database of skills and aspirations of AMICUS groups so that funding opportunities can be linked to specific groups for delivery.
