CEO Chris Hindley appointed to Cheshire & Warrington LEP Board

  Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the organisation responsible for setting the strategic direction for the Cheshire and Warrington economy, has announced the appointment of five new members to its Board. Under the Nolan rules, a number of existing Board members had reached the end of their terms, and the LEP had a wealth of interest from the best of the region’s business talent to take their place. Williams Family Foundation donation to Match me a Mentor Programme

  Local funder The Williams Family Foundation has given a donation to Ellesmere Port based charity Youth Fed to support a vital mentoring project in West Cheshire. Match Me a Mentor is a new programme pairing vulnerable young people with mentors from local businesses who will work together to overcome challenges, improve confidence and develop new skills. Youth Fed was very fortunate over the last week to receive keen interest from the media in the success and ambitions of our Cyber Safety Development programme. NCS Young People bag 391 for local Youth Group

  Pictured are young people from one of Youth Fed's Halton NCS Graduate teams. The young people gave up 4 hours of their Sunday afternoon on the 22nd of January to raise a fantastic £391 at Tesco in Widnes. The funds raised will be used towards buying games equipment for local youth group Woodside Youth Group in Runcorn. Well done team!!!! ...

McEwan Wallace first Wirral business to sign up to Match Me a Mentor!

Leading accountancy firm McEwan Wallace has become the first business in Wirral to sign up to a new initiative to help vulnerable young people look forward to a brighter future. The Birkenhead-based company has pledged support for ‘Match Me a Mentor’ a new project launched by charity Youth Fed which aims to help raise young people’s confidence and self-esteem and offer them a positive role model. The project, due to start in September, will also provide opportunities to young people in the area, and is being piloted in Wirral, with plans to expand it across six other regions...
