The Henry Smith Project helps build the confidence, self-esteem and skills of young people aged 11-19 from Ellesmere Port and Blacon who have offended in the last 12 months or are considered at risk of offending.
The project offers a one to one support programme of informal education determined by the needs of the young person. A distinctive characteristic of the project is that each young person is involved in decision making so that the project is tailor made to meet the needs of individuals.
We have been extremely busy over the last 12 months ensuring that high quality youth work and support is offered to each young person. The aim of the project is to enable positive outcomes, supporting young people to achieve and celebrate success. Learning opportunities are accredited through AQA and Duke of Edinburgh Awards as a means of recognising the achievements of young people and their commitment and contribution to the project.
