Youth Group Support Officer


Responsible To: Operations Director

Starting Salary: £21,000.00 – £23,213.00 pro rata

Hours: 18.75 hours per week

Location: Cheshire East and Cheshire West

Contract Term: 2 year fixed term from start date

Job Purpose

The main purpose of this role is to work with Uniformed Youth Organisations across Cheshire helping them to develop and expand to accommodate the need and reach. As a member of the Youth Fed delivery team, working with Cheshire Youth United, you will act as a catalyst in order for the Uniformed Youth Organisations to work together for mutual benefit across all levels mainly establishing cooperation and support at a local town based level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

NB: The list of responsibilities is a guide and may include but are not limited to the following. You may be required to undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as and when required

  • Support the communication at a county level through and with the county CYU meetings
  • Develop and facilitate joint working, sharing of resources and networking for uniformed service organisations at a town based level
  • Support local ‘CYU Ambassadors’ to develop innovative strategies to support adult volunteers and young people recruitment into uniformed service organisations
  • Support uniformed organisations at a town level in the development and opening of new units as indicated by Cheshire Youth United members
  • Increase the capacity of uniformed youth provision in Cheshire with the aim of enhancing the life opportunities of young people in Cheshire


  • Actively support young people through Youth Fed initiatives
  • Prepare progress reports and quality control assessments for the Network and funding organisations so that progress can be monitored and changes introduced if the Network is not meeting its aims and objectives
