October has been a busy month so far for Youth Fed, as we took 16 young adults aged 16-17 on a residential to London as part of a pilot NCS Urban programme. Whilst in London, thanks to David Rutley MP, the young adults were lucky enough to attend a private tour around the houses of parliament.
In addition to this the young adults learned new skills around independent living, getting a job and techniques on giving a presentation. The group also navigated their way around the London Underground using maps provided by the Team Leaders. It’s been a great experience for all involved and the group relished the opportunity to finally see all the incredible tourist sights London had to offer.
Feedback from the young adults has been extremely positive and has been hailed a success by all involved. All of us here at Youth Fed is looking forward to seeing what social action they will be taking forward to help their community.
